Photoshop 'cannot save 'cause of program error' GRRRR! - 04-28-2009, 12:12 AM

I'm working on a file from a recent shoot, opened from LR2 as a Tif, edited, flattened, converted to 8-bit.
I go to "save as" a JPEG, and Photoshop tells me "Cannot complete your request because of a program error"
Needless to say it's pissing me off. WHY WON'T IT SAVE!
It saves as PSD, TIFF, and so on, just not JPEG...

Please help, I'm about ready to throw my MBP against the wall...

This happens to me all the time in CS3. Only once was the drive that i was saving it too was full. Which cause that one. The rest of the time I have no idea what causes it. I want to throw it too when I have just done a 6 frame pano!

Is it set to 8 bit under mode? Just a stab, but jpeg can only be 8 bit. I would guess you tried that already though. Good luck.

Yes, I converted to 8-bit first. If you don't it doesn't give you the option to save a s JPEG.
Thanks for the thought.

What I did next was 'Export' the image from LR2 as a JPEG already, work on it AGAIN, then it saved it. I just hate having to work on the image twice.

You should be able to open the edited PSD or TIFF in lightroom, then maybe you can export it to a JPG from there? I have no idea what's causing your issue, but maybe this could be a work around.

Can you click "as copy" ? My guess is that LR2 has the image locked and you cannot save over it. That is usually what the error means.

Try adding a number to the file name.
