Can I get a second for LucisArt anything filters?
I swear it's now the most overused processing next to [insert your favorite] skin softening plug-ins.

There is a place for everything, but I wearied of LucisArt almost two years ago. HDR is HDR - LucisArt isn't.
Then again, I look back at some of my photos and the processing was atrocious - I'm not sure that my current workflow is any better, either. I live in a glass house, so I'll try to limit my projectiles to small pebbles.

Not picking on anyone in particular, it just seems like everywhere I turn, I see perfectly well exposed, composed, and captured portraits turned into King Leonidas shots from 300.

I didn't care for the movie. I can't imagine that I would like what you are describing.
Are you saying that given a choice I would like HDR?

I hear you, Scott. I've never been a fan of Lucis for portraits, especially children's portraits. It is too often used with a heavy hand and makes those poor, sweet kids look like they have dirty faces and black eyes.

I've never been a fan of the "Lucis look" for portraits.. I like it for urban scenes a lot.. but it makes people look terrible IMHO.

Heavy vignettes and textures! ....Oh, wait, I used both of those in this thread
But yeah, that Lucis stuff is not my cup of tea. I've messed around with it with picture of my kids and thought it was neat, but I would never show it to a client or anything.

I prefer over-bumped eye's and overexposed whites. I hear the Zombie look is the new "white"

I wonder if the copy cats who never saw a slider they couldn't push too far are familiar with photographers like Sally Mann. I'm not terribly familiar with her work and probably will never get more familair with her work. Her photos of her own children disturb me. She gets the "LOOK" the old fashioned way: in camera, on film, 8x10 inches at a time.
Different strokes.
