Epson 4880 printing problem - 06-07-2009, 01:18 PM

I open an image in Cs4 and set the crop tool to 8.5 x 11 and crop my image, select print and select the profile and select 8.5 x 11 and select borderless and print. it leaves 1/4 inch around the top and 1/2 inch on the bottom and the sides are borderless. I have tried all the different settings I think anyway. the preview shows a full image. I am using the Windows 7 beta ?
any clues as to what I'm doing wrong ?
Thanks
Gary

I don't think most large-format printers can print true borderless on the sheet feed, although I can't say for certain about the 4880 since I don't have personal experience with it. With my Canon ipf5000 I would have to use the roll feed if I wanted to print borderless (I prefer a border, though).

Thanks Jeff.
I know my old 4000 would do it, I have some mattes that are cut for 8.5x11 and the 1/2 inch at the bottom just will not work.

After a quick search I found that you can't print borderless with the 4880... Apparently it is due to the way the mechanism grabs the paper. It is different because of the roll feed capability.

Maybe double matte the print? I know, really helpful, aren't I.
