The Task: Produce a Professional Portfolio

Just exactly how do Y'all go about producing a professional portfolio? Shall we skip ahead to the point where I have a selection of photographs. I am lost when it comes to packaging for presentation. Please share your methods with me. Products, links, methods, size of prints, etc. are all appreciated.

Thank you!

Well, I love the little book you have.

I have already started buying the supplies and intend on copying that.

What you need to do is have your work reviewed and critiqued by smart people.

Join HCP and go to some of their sessions.

Or you can pay Ben. I know Ben. He is a sincere gentleman.

Thanks Kevin. I wish I could remember where we bought that album. The post binders are a pain. Otherwise, it is ok. I just figured that I needed something to hold matted prints.

Oh. I should have looked further. Ben is in Dallas. Everything is in Dallas. Or Fort Worth.

I'll crawl off and hide now.

Adorama sells that style album. I have it & the sheets. Just need to select a paper and print.

HCP has thier First Tuesdays-- its free (donations accepted) and open to anyone. Lots of great info there.

Look at an art supply place (Jerry's Artorama is in the Willowbrook area) for portfolios of all kinds.

There is also Texas Art Supply (who even carries 11x14 mats for 5x5 square prints) and I also find things I like and use at Archivers (Fry Rd north of I-10 in the HEB shopping center - - they are a chain).

I welcome comments on any picture I post... Thanks.

Are any of you HCP members? Do you feel it's worth it?

I am a member and I do feel it is worth it for discounts on classes and for the contacts and resources available to me as a member.
