After reading this for me it makes more sense to go up to the 4880.

Report.

Of you could go up to the Canon 5100 and not flush away $70 of ink every time you switch blacks. If you can live with one type of black the 4880 is great, but for some that just isn't an option.

Interestingly, it's not just a matter of price point. All of the Canon ipf series have a vacuum feed, but the much more expensive HP printers do not and users of those models have also had complaints about "pizza wheel marks".

i really, REALLY want a 4880.
But i dont print that much to justify the cost. versus having some lenses i need to buy still.

We have 3800s at school and i LOVE the outputs. My 13x19s look so delicious. its a shame i havent had time to mount them all.

Stovall - thanks for the find, I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on either a 3880 or 4880, due to the $500 rebate on the 4880, the price will be only a couple of hundred more than the 3880.

I like my 4880 quite a bit, glad I purchased it.

That is attractive. It lasts until the end of the month 10/31/09.
