UV sprays - 11-09-2009, 08:10 PM

I was in a gallery yesterday and had a long conversation with the owner and we discussed the lack of glass on his paintings, just Gilcee prints, he had some really great work from a lot of different painters and very few pieces had glass. which started me wondering a Gilcee is just an inkjet print. they were printed on canvas and some on paper but they had an incredible look to them without the glass. I have a show coming up next year and the cost of uv glass is a big part of the cost, I do not want to offer an inferior product but it would sure help me keep the cost down and from what I saw yesterday look good. I have read some of the past post about Glamour ll , is this the best way to go ? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Gary

This is the stuff I recently purchased and it Works great. I don't know if it's recommended but I'm using 3 parts glossy to 1 part matte to get a semi-gloss look. I'm using a roller to apply it at the moment. Eventually would like to get a spray system.

Thanks Sergio
looks pretty good, I wonder about the satin on a semi gloss print ? I may give it a try, I'm printing on an Epson 4880 I guess that's instant dry.

THey have a sampler kit for $40. That way you can test different ones on small prints. Works great with Epson products.

My lab does it for me BUT they print one day and uv coat the next. When I asked the said, "While it might be dry to the touch, it may still have some moisture to it."
