Online Printing Help Needed - 06-02-2010, 07:14 PM

So I usually use a local printshop, but decided to send some photos of mine on my Flickr account to Snapfish since I had a free coupon. Arrival was timely, print quality not too bad, but many of my photos had the crop/size changed!

I like to do a bit of cropping and make images custom sized. Are there only certain print places that will accomidate this or should I have labled them in a certain way? Do I need to only crop in 8x10, etc?

Enlighten me...

Thanks for the link. Good info. But.... if I'm going to order 8x10 prints, should I crop everything to that size or is there a setting somewhere that I'm not aware of that will put the photo into that size automatically???

One option is to take your photo. Find the nearest size that they offer and Say they print 8x10 and your photo is 7x4. that that 7x4 and put it on a canvas that is 8x10 and it will print fine. If the image you give them is sized to the size print you choose that is what they print. But if you give them a 12x8 and say print it on an 8x10 they just smack it down and don't shrink it, they fill that entire 8x10 and you loose part of your photo. Hope this makes it clear.

I'll set the crop tool to the size I plan on printing at 300dpi, save as jpeg and off to WHCC.
