Is that from personal experience? If so can you give a little review of it?

I've heard nothing but good things from everyone over at FM. We have the 7880 I believe at work and one of our lab guys claims his 1400 prints with very similar quality.

I have some extra ink and cases of paper on order. When it arrives I will give it some test prints and do a review.

yes,to both.

I am on my second one. I wore out the first one...and because it was still under warrenty, they sent me a new one. It prints a beautiful black. The print to the edge is always crisp clean. It feeds most papers beautifully. with the exception of the Epson brochure paper...don't know why but it hates that one. Canvas, heavy paper has been no problem. I've printed on velum worked great. Occasionally it will balk at address labels.

Its quick even at the most dense ink volume.

The colors are vivid. The inks are pretty long lasting but I did go ahead and get an after market ink system for it and I love that too http://www.inksupply.com is where I got mine.

One thing that has been a problem is that the paper feed will occasionally dent the paper, like velvet fine art, on a moist day.

but for a general work horse...I've been very happy with it and the service.

Supposedly Absoloutly FREE Ink for Epson Printers if you believe everything you read.

I'm tempted to give it a shot, as ink for my Epson ain't cheap.

Sorry Jonathan. I do know that they send out new printers with cartridges that have less ink than if you buy a full one, but one print sounds extreme.

Jonathon, I loaded up my after market right away, I keep the ink thingys as color check only when I switch ink bottles.

I hate that they have us over a barrel. It is a shame and we should all band together and make a class action....

yeah, I figured atleast a couple test prints. But then again they don't even supply a sheet of paper (samples) to test either. I e-mailed epson we shall see what they say.

Not cool that a $200.00 printer needs about $120.00 in Ink almost right away

try a color laser which needs $800 worth right away. Ouch.
I can't even print decent pictures with it either.

Kevin, If you know up front then its expected. When I purchased it I asked if I should buy ink. The salesman said ohh no you get a good amount of prints from the ink it comes with. Its alteast half filled.

Update* I took the inks out turned the printer off. Turned it back on and put the "empty" ink back in. printed another 4x6 and it came out perfect

Gotta be careful with that on the Epson r2880. The ink cart chips sense the change and, when reinserted, refuse to cooperate with the printing software.
