Anyone print through/using ROES (WHCC)? - 08-03-2011, 11:32 PM

EDIT: Resolved, thanks!

Can you take my image and look at it on your software? When I look at the image on my laptop, website, anywhere, it looks great, but when I upload to ROES, select the size (4x6) it looks grainy, almost like its too sharp on her hair.

I tried different resolutions, 240ppi and 300ppi, and also tried sharpening (on export) for matte print through LR2 and not sharpening to see if that was causing the problem but either way looks fine when viewed on my laptop, but messed up in ROES.

Does the software show AS IS, meaning it will print as it's seen in ROES?

I've been printing through ROES and WHCC for over 3 years and have never seen this, it's weird.

Thank you!
Kristina

If it's anything like Mpix Pro ROES, the preview is not an accurate representation of the final print.

I should add that it appears to only look overly sharp in ROES on her hair (head, eyelashes), anywhere else and it looks fine.

I see what you're saying. Her hair looks "crunchy." I just pulled it into Mpix ROES, and it looks just like the ones above (not the ROES image).

Oh awesome, I was hoping the preview wasn't what the print would look like. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at it, I appreciate it! Now I can close this order and finally get some sleep!

The preview is a rendering to show you the print in Roes. If your monitor is correct, then ignore the quality of Roes and print. Worst case, email the company and air out your concerns. I have dealt with WHCC and Millers and they are top notch.

Thanks Rich. I submitted the order last night. I've always had positive experiences with their support team so if there is an issue when I receive their order I'll just give them a call.

Thanks guys! removing images now.
