Duplex photo prints needed - Anyone do this? - 02-06-2012, 12:03 PM

Does anyone know of a printing company that will print duplex photo prints?

I'm looking to create a series of baseball trading cards and have no problem either printing them at their exact size or printing on an 8x10 and cutting them up, I just need someone to print both sides for me.

I've done the forum and google search and had no luck.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Joe

double sided prints - 02-06-2012, 12:43 PM

You can buy double sided paper for printing on a regular photo printer and do it yourself but the registration would have to be perfect. However, if you are making baseball cards, it seems like a better option would be to print on normal paper and use spraymount to mount to a heavy stock paper. That elimantes the two sided printing, the registration problems, and gives yu a heavier stock to work with.

How many cards do you need? And do you want them on photo paper or regular cards stock like a real baseball card?

What about something like this

If not I would think you would need to find an offset printer to make them. you could call Cheryl or Chris at Proforma (903) 534-9999 I use them for all my printing needs for our company. Tell them Patrick from RCMI told you to call them.

Thanks for the suggestions and the link. If I wasn't such a freak and designed the front and back I'd happily go with the template feature.

Already tried it myself and there's just no way to get it lined up correctly on your standard photo printer.

As for the mounting, I have thought of that. I can get one side printed and mounted on a stiff board and then manually attach the back to it. That won't be cost effective though as it'll be a time-killer.

I can also give up the thought of including a back which might be the way to go...

Thanks guys!

Have you actually used them steve?

The site uses yousendit and excel for uploading and order forms, which makes me a little leery.

I've sent a few emails out including this one. The problem I'm seeing with the ones that do 2 sided cards is that you have to use their templates. If I find someone who will print a custom card I'll report back.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've followed up with all of them.
