If anyone has used their MacBook Pro + iPhoto to shoot tethered and print on site, I'd like to hear from you. I might have that opportunity in the near future so I'd like to know how well it worked for you.

I don't use iPhoto. I use Nikon Camera Control Pro & Capture NX and shoot tethered and print onsite onto 4x6 photo printer.

Since I couldn't figure out if it can or can't be done with iPhoto, I decided to install and use EOS Utility and Image Browser. Seems to work fine.

I did an event, shoot then dump cards to my assistant every 10 minutes, with her on the iPhoto / printing side, and it SUCKED.

Yes, the printing utility was nice, but it just didn't work well. It may have been the computer / set up.

iMac G4, 10.3.9, 1.3gHz (I think) and 512MB RAM. A ram upgrade might've done the trick, but it wasnt my mac. I've also done the same thing on my 887mHz Pbook, 10.4,1GB ram and it was still slow.

With the MacPro, it screams and I bet would work, but there are better solutions. I just didn't like using iPhoto for that purpose.

Thanks, Dan. I won't be using iPhoto. As stated above, I'll be shooting JPEG and printing via Image Browser. Should work OK.
