Questions on epson 4000 pro printer ink problems - 11-11-2007, 05:24 PM

I have an epson 4000 pro printer in which I changed my matte black cartridge out and attempted to run an auto head alignment / cleaning. After running the alignment it said heads were still clogged so I ran it again. This time the printer menu said set ink crtg and shows the matte black cartridge needed to be reinstalled. I pulled it out and reinstalled it several times with the same message.

Is the chip on the ink cartidge bad and has anyone had this type of problem. I put an empty 110 ml cartidge in and it shows out of ink. I had another 110ml cartridge that shows invalid cartrige after working for past month and is still half full, this is why I put new 220ml cartridge in today. The new cartridge has an exp date of 10-2008 and was installed 11-11-07 and printed one head alignment / cleaning before this problem. All ink used are espon not off brand.

Has anyone dealt with epson on warranty with ink cartridges?
