Printing problem again - 02-17-2008, 03:05 PM

Hmmm... I'm using Photoshop CS3 now on my mac pro with system 10.4.11 and I'm having an issue printing again. Something isn't right with the printer profiles for my Epson 2400.

This shows my setting in photoshop which I'm pretty sure is the same as when i got perfect prints before.

and this is the print dialog settings which seems different. I don't seem to have very many icc profiles to choose from anymore. If I choose "photo quality" it won't even let me choose "best photo" in the drop down menu.

Any idea what I'm missing/doing wrong?

In the first print box set the "printer profile" to the printer/paper profile , not Prophoto RGB.

Make sure that in the second dialog box that "color management" is set to off.

DOH! Yes, thank you for clearing the fog in my brain! Now I remember.

On more problem though... now in that second dialog box it's only letting me choose the 3 matte paper selections but I'm trying to print to premium glossy photo paper.

Not familiar with that printer, but is there a setting for matt vs glossy because of the different black carts?

hmmm... good point. The matte black ink cartridge is in there. Maybe it's smart enough to know this. I'll check it out...
