Well I have a first...I have to make a photo to fit a wall. The wall size is 26 inches wide. So I need to make a storybook with 8 photos on a portrait style photo. What do you think I should make the maximum width on the photo? Could I go as high as 20 inches? That still gives a good 3 inches on each side for a frame and space to hang the photo?

Seems like you'd want to back into your number.

26" wide wall - I'll assume you're going to completely use that width.

2" wide frame x 2 sides = 4"
2" mat x 2 sides = 4"

Looks to me like you'll need 18" wide photos.

- if the wall is exactly 8' tall and you maintain the same 2" mat between the photos, you'd come out somewhere around 9 1/4" tall photos.

Hope this helps...

Where is this wall? Just contextually I am having a hard time picturing this. I was thinking by your first sentence it was a wall in a house, or office.

Sounds like it may be a side of a wall open ended.

It is a wall in a hallway, one side is a doorway and one side is a corner to another wall.

I think I can do 20" photo then, as the "mat" is part of the photo...the collage effect with the mat being part of the photo...

Appreciate the help.
