All preserved. If it worked with your IR system, it’ll work by radio with the RadioPopper. And if you do prefer manual mode - remember your existing IR based system can be set to fire slaves using manual power settings. This function is of course preserved with RadioPopper."

It sounds like it's basically taking whatever the IR system is putting out, encoding it onto a radio frequency, and then decoding it into an IR signal again on the receiving end. Pretty nifty if it works.

I was extremely excited when I first heard of this. The ability to maintain ETTL is perfect for me.

Anyway... group buy. I'm all about it.

When the release date comes I'll be putting out a discount code on all the forums, as well as the open invitation for group buys with solid discounts. The more of these things I can put in the hands of wedding shooters on web forums, the more they'll talk, and well.....

Rather than dump a ton of money into traditional advertising, I plan to expend that same money in discounts and doing anything publically beneficial for other shooters. Sharing the love. I promise I won't be stingy with the proceeds.

I'll also make myself available on the various forums to answer as many questions as I can as the time gets closer for release. I'm just a regular shooter like yourselves and I'd like to remain active in user community as things develop.

Awesome forum you all have here by the way. Some darn talented photographers.

The King Sling - 10-26-2007, 08:28 AM

So (if I understand the concept of the RadioPopper correctly) the transmitter takes the IR signal output from the Master, translates it into a radio signal and broadcasts (slings, bridges, etc.) it to the receiver which then translates it back to IR for the Slave.

It's a King Sling!

Way more useful than a Fong dong.

I can't wait!!! Well, if it works as good as everybody's talking, I am ordering six of them.

And Norma, I am totally agreed with you, "Fong Dong" sucks.

I am confused a little by the FAQ. It says if you are getting paid for your work, use the industry standard (which we all know are Pocket Wizards)... Then it says to use this product for weddings and quick setup, etc... I am getting paid to shoot weddings... Where does that put me? LOL

Product looks promising.. If you need a beta tester, let me know. I shoot nearly every weekend in exactly the market you are targeting (so it seems).
