Ok, so I understand the concept. Forgive, me but I'm late getting on this train.

I just recently bought an SU-800, which I love, love, love.

However, in sunlight it works like crap!!!

Can a Radio popper work to transmit the IR signal from SU-800 to wireless flashes?

Ok... bump...
I have a d80 and a sb600... am i still limited the 1/200s sync speed?

That's exactly right. SU-800 and SB-800 (or SB-600) as a slave work great together.

Yeah, it took me awhile to figure it out.

At first I thought it was more like a Pocket Wizard that connected physically to the Hot shoe and sync cord.

I think I get now though. Sounds very promising.
