Mission 4 Drive-In
3100 Roosevelt Ave.
San Antonio, TX 78214

If you see this thing every day, it's probably not that big of a deal to you, but I thought it was pretty neat and tried to stop to take some photos there. The Boy whined and complained (he was ready to go eat and head out of town) and commented on how he was afraid we would become crime victims by being there (it was 3pm on a Sunday and we were out in the wide open). There was evidence of graffiti and vandalism, but it looked pretty darn safe to me.

I didn't get too many shots but will post one when I get to my other computer. Seems like it might be a good location for a classic car shoot, as it was built in 1947. Biggest screen faces East. Sun was setting in my face, but not actually behind the main screen. That was in June, so I'm not sure how the sun moves in other times of the year. There are 3 other screens as well.

It seems like a interesting place to shoot - I've been by there a couple of times myself, and wanted to stop. Seems like something else was always more pressing.

Thanks for reminding me.

Oh, the irony.

It's a lot easier to get in there now that they tore down the fences. It would be a cool place to shoot, but if you must do it late evening, bring friends. Not the best part of town.

My 'edit photos' says no; but because there is no "sometimes" option.
