Cascade Caverns - 06-28-2006, 10:43 PM

There is another cave system at Boerne, Texas called Cascade Caverns. I remember going there as a child on a school field trip. I went a while back to see how it compared to how I remembered it. It was just as interesting now as it was then. The final chamber is huge with a lake in the middle.

This picture is of a natural basin that collects the perfectly pure water. Cameras w/flash and tripods are welcome, but there is not a lot of time for setup.

I used all the photos that I took here in a slide show with music. I called it "Millers Cave". You can see the slide show here: http://sharpfocus.homestead.com/MillersCave.html It is a Photodex show which is an Austin Corporation.

Great slideshow, Bob. I like the panning and zooming.

How's the lighting in the cavern? I visited Longhorn Caverns and was able to get some nice shots without a flash. I didn't want to loose all the great shadows created by the cavern's lighting.

Thanks for the comments. Sorry it took so long to reply, but I was out of town without my computer. A wedding in Boston with nothing but Yankees there. I will probably share some of those pictures after I have a chance to go through them.

Frank, would you like to be second camera on another wedding at the Little Church? Let me know if you are interested.

Carlos, the lighting is not very good. I had a tripod, but there was never enough time to get it set up. The tour did not dawdle at all. Pretty fast paced still it was an enjoyable tour.

Carlos, I went to look at your Longhorn Caverns album. Beautiful stuff. They had more lighting than at Cascade Caverns. I am done spelunking though. ...Bob

I think so Frank. The wedding is in September and will be a small one in La Villita. Right now I am recovering from a severe heat stroke that happened when I was in Boston. I will call you as soon as I feel better. Probably tomorrow. Thanks. ...Bob
