Wildseed Farms

Welcome to Wildseed Farms, located in the beautiful Texas hill country, just seven miles east of Fredericksburg. Wildflower seed, grown here on the farm, is available through our free mail order catalog which can be accessed online or we can send one to you easily and quickly! Our catalog features seeds for over 90 varieties of wildflowers, grasses, herbs and exotic garden variety seeds. Online we include a selection of our specialty foods, gifts, and birdhouses that we sell in our Market Center! Better yet, come on by and visit us seven days a week, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

We often have fields of flowers in bloom for great photographic opportunities.

We also feature a live butterfly exhibit, known as The Butterfly Haus, and offer a stroll through The Meadows, our trial plot and research fields. There’s always something going on at Wildseed Farms!

I'm planning on heading out there this weekend! Looks beautiful!

get ready to pay for the priviledge. Last time we were by there, the BB fields had an admission charge. Most of the other areas were too congested for anything serious.

I am going at the end of April...26 weekend...how crowded do you think it will be then? Is it best to go early or late as we will be hitting up enchanted rock as well??

the weekends will be crowded, but then that's the only time i've been.

I would think (speaking of dangerous...) that as early as possible in the day would be the least crowded. The field(s) of BB are pretty much shade-less all day long, so late or early would work better anyway.

I'm sure the place has changed since I was last there, they were adding a lot of stuff even back then.

Hopefully their irrigation has given them a decent crop, most of the area is pretty sparse on BB this year due to the lack of rain.

Be sure to get some maroon BB seeds....
