Locale with Western Flair Needed - 12-25-2008, 10:27 AM

I've been asked to shoot a senior in a western setting with saddles, gear, etc. I would appreciate your suggestions. This is a San Antonio area shoot. All areas of San Antonio are appreciated. Randolph AFB (northeast) will be especially appreciated. Thanks!

Are they actually on Randolph? Because I think Randoph has a horse Stable on base? If not - I know Ft Sam and Lackland do.

Other than that check for any kind of stables in their area and call to see if they'd let you shoot there.

Other than that I'm not real sure - maybe someone else can chime in with some help....

Great idea! They aren't on Randolph, but I have access. I'll contact the stables when they are next open (Christmas - Friday - Saturday... <smile>). Thanks for the feedback. And I welcome more from anyone.

Enchanted Springs Ranch out in Borne. 10.00 to get in but it is as close to the old west as you can get.

Super! Thanks very much! Is that ten bucks per person or per party or per photographer? Thanks!

I'd recommend calling the Ranch and explaining exactly what you want to do, and ask if there would be any problem or extra charges.

The last shoot I did there I paid $50 for an off hours shoot, meaning I had the run of the place for a couple of hours. Not sure about the horse bit, but I agree with Phil, it is as western as it gets in this area. Lots of different shot ops.

Thanks Barb! I may take you up on that. I'll check out Rio Cibolo Ranch, and I have a line on a local small ranch also. I really appreciate this. I believe this site is worth more than all the others I'm on combined. Guess I'd better pony up a quarter to help it along.
