Event Description
The presentation is multicultural, reflecting strong ethnic traditions as well as contemporary urban styles, which is a reflection of the diversity present in the City of San Antonio. For only $8.00, the affordable family friendly show begins at sunset and engages audiences of all ages for a little over an hour. All the proceeds, including concessions, goes back into the training, equipment, costumes and supplies needed for an award winning show. The Emcee for Bravo is local radio disc jockey Elizabeth Ruiz. Liz is a member of the Edgewood Hall of Fame, the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Image De San Antonio Outstanding Hispanic Woman Role Model, and the Governor’s “Yellow Rose of Texas” award. She is also one of San Antonio’s best ranchera singers! Guest artists include, Mariachis Campanas de America. “This premier musical ensemble combines traditional Mexican mariachi music with Latin and mainstream pop rhythms from the traditional folkloric ‘La Negra’ to toe-tapping, boot-scootin ‘Lone Star Medley’, says Special Programs Supervisor Mona Lisa Montgomery. The Bravo show received the 2007 Dorothy Mullen Arts and Humanities Award from the National Recreation and Park Association. The award recognizes those who demonstrate excellence in arts and humanities while also inspiring others who may be interested in developing similar programs. Bravo is $8 general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the theater ticket booth prior to the performances. Proceeds from ticket sales and concessions benefit both dance troupes. ¡Bravo!
