On the way back from the hospital, I had Lupe stop at Camera Exchange. In the used case was a minty Nikon FM 3A! Unfortunately, I did not have the cash with me, otherwise I might have walked out with this jewel. Haven;t been back in a couple of days, so don't know if its still there, but it was a beautiful camera!

I can see that it would make for a nice coffee table ornament that would inspire some exciting conversation among visiting TPF'ers.

In the right hands, perhaps even better than all the whiz-bang digital models of today!

IIRC about $600 w/ out the 50mm lens. Felt so nice in my hand. But I have other things to spend money on right now, so I cannot let myself be distracted... Think 4880, think 4880, think........

Maybe that camera is a bit over priced, but I do have to agree. . . .It can/will (in the right hands) still produce excellent results for any photographer who knows what he/she is doing. For all those wanna be photographers who know NOTHING about film/analog photography, this truly is a nice well built "coffee table conversation piece". I mean no one offense to anyone, but most photographers now a days (especially those who were born with a digital camera in their hands) seem to think that "digital" translates to "better". More convenient? Maybe so. Better/higher quality? NO WAY! Film still rules that catagory. Keep your eyes open if you really want a camera like this one. A better deal may come along. Another alternative for you to consider is one of my all time favorite cameras from Nikon. . . . The F100. A well built solid tank of a camera. Made for professional use and A/F too. An excellent condition model may set you back about $500.00 but I've seen many bargains and deals for this camera for less. Good luck finding your "coffee table conversation piece". | | | |

I was in Camera Exchange one day and saw a Canon T90. I owned one many years ago and took some of my very favorite pictures with it. It made me smile and feel sad at the same time. I also had a Nikon 6006 that I remember fondly. I love digital and wouldn't go back for anything, but browsing the used shelves at CE sure brings back memories. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
