SA Photog's - it's kinda quite around this here place. When is the next GTG? Anyone shooting anymore? Or are ya taking the summer off. If anything stay cool it's a hot one out there. Stand up and be counted. We need another GTG don't ya think?

I'm with you on needing some kind of get-together around here.. there are alot of new sa photogs on here we need to meet.

I have no ideas on what to do.. but it is tooo hot to be thinking about outside right now.. lol

I just quit my job a couple of weeks ago, so for now my schedule is max-flex. I'm just north of the airport. I would prefer a location where I can walk from my air-conditioned car into an air-conditioned venue without taking more than 10 steps outside :)

I'd be up for a GTG - I need to get out and shoot somewhere.

I'm new and wouldn't mind meeting everyone. It was on my to do list to go to a meet up in Dallas before I left and didn't, so that just means that goal transferred to SA.

Well I agree, I'm ready for a GTG. Where is a good place to go and shoot on a Saturday morning? That way it isn't to hot.

I've been saying we need a GTG for over a year!!! Let's make it happen. I'm looking at joing the the Greater San Antonio Photo Club. Anyone know much about them? It seems like all the cities around SA have lots of active groups, but the folks here are either all loners or just sleeping!

Its just too hot right now. Have too much on my plate right now, but I am looking maybe at the end of the month, a meet either down on the river early in the day, or at the Missions. Next weekend is out on Saturday since we are getting new furniture.

Since we all began a couple of years ago, I think that we have hit all the major spots at least twice. So, what else is there besides the tourist attractions? I don't have any ideas. Tourist attractions are places where more than 3 people with black cameras and backpacks are allowed without intervention.

For me, early in the morning, the lighting is odd. I mean, only the sunny side of any subject is lit well. Same thing applies for late in the day. I know, I know. I should work on my lighting technique.

Faraway places? Well, there is a limit as to how far away I will go. 60 or so miles is OK with me. Admission prices? I can handle up to $15 plus parking fees. Walking distances with a full back pack? Up to 2 miles. Cold beer? Up to 3 bottles to safely return home.

Here's one idea, the Fuddruckers (hamburger place) on loop 410 by Ingram Mall has a large parking lot where every Saturday evening a huge gathering of old cars, low riders and motorcycles gather and display their vehicles. We could eat some hamburgers, drink a beer talk about photography and then go outside and hopefully shoot some cars before it gets too dark. What do you think?

Also every Friday night almost year round near I-35 and Topperwein is Biff Buzbys. Awesome burger joint where tons of cool cars and live music gather from about 6pm till the wee hours.
