I present a new location for some interesting photos: Martindale, Texas. Its off Hwy 80 and FM 1978 in Martindale.

It is also known as speedtrap, and they have been known for kiting (inflating the supposedly measured speed).

That may be a good spot for 10 stop ND fillter.

Actually I was thinking the exact same thing! It looks similar in layout and orientation to the dam downriver a bit in Luling, it faces east and is tough to light at any time other than early morning. Unfortunately the dam in Luling is shaded in the earliest light by the hwy bridge. And it is impossible to get on the south side of the dam without trespassing.

This one looks much more accessible. I know that my informal/unplanned stops in Luling have been frustrated by the high sun and the lack of anything stronger than a CP to knock the light down.

Wayne, you can actually cross a very low water crossing bridge, and get really close to the dam. I have driven past that dam and over the bridge many times over the past 16 years. Its a very photogenic site.
