Well here's my story at the Airshow today...
I showed up at 6 AM. Yes, that early. It was heavily socked in with fog, about 1/8 of a mile to near zero and there wasn't anyone around except for those setting up. I highly encourage it if you can get up that and have the means to get on base this early.
To make a long story short, shot about 1800 photos, so here are a few that I managed to go through. It was a long day but worth it. My only complaint is that I got tired of the prop job acro types. A bit too many in my opinion. Anyway, here are a few, enjoy!

Yep, not the best in terms of photographing in the air stuff, but we made do. Sunday is forecasted to be more cloudier than Saturday, so I'm happy with what I took Friday and today.

I'm sitting in Houston, deciding if it's worth the trip, due to the weather. Doesn't look like it will be ideal, by a long shot. Nice job. :-)

I was going to make the trip from Houston for it, but scratched due to the weather. Was it really bad? Did they cancel some performers?

I don't know about that side of town but over on the NW side, it was horrible. I stepped out with every intention of going and it was raining cats and dogs. As much as I would have liked to have gone, I'll just have to live vicariously through the pictures here

I got there at 12:30 in the rain and abotu 12:45 it stopped but the ceiling was still so low they said noone would be flying today, so we walked around till 1:30 playing games looking at the planes ect and around 1:45 they announced SHOW WAS ON... so under went TORA TORA TORA fallowed by 2 stunt planes around 2:30 it started to rain again so they waited about 10 min did another fly around in the a-10 dropped a few bombs, with awesome pyrotechnics considering it had just rained... and at 3:00 the F-18 came out My dad was crew chief for 14 yrs so when the Fighters come out to play its THE HIGH LIGHT of the show, maybe 5 min into that more rain so they did 2 high speed photo passes and landed. Not even a few seconds after that it was raining so hard you could not see 5 ft in front of you so show was canceled, We had to walk from the far side where they take off ALL AROUND to the front where the Buses are * 25-30 min in the rain that didnt slow up one bit * I felt sorry for everyone with out umbrellas as they were getting SOAKED... All in all it was a great show, I have spend the last 24 years going to these and they always manage to put on a good show no matter what!!!
