$4,419.93 Water Bill - 11-20-2009, 09:28 AM

Yep, opened up my water bill last night and had a $4,419.93 charge on my account if I paid before December 7, 2010. If I paid after that date the bill would be $4,632.17. This was based on my prudent use of 747,352 gallons of water last month. What a pleasant surprise!
I called the water company this morning and they had already flagged my bill for investigation. I have to say that they were very courteous and agreed with me that something was wrong. My meter reading was 02718 in October and in November it was read at 02717. When I looked at the meter this morning it was 02719 not 02717. They took my word and recorded my reading. They also said they would generate a new bill to resolve this issue. I couldn't have asked for better service, but sure wish that the meter had been read correctly the first time.
I will be keeping this bill to remind my wife that she needs to quit making me wash the dishes every night (LOL).

LOL Roy! My Wife works for SAWS if you have any problems let me know and I'll speak to her about how to best handle this. Sounds like they caught the error already though. Good Luck!

Thanks John. The customer service people were very professional and were very understanding. Nice to work with people that recognize that there is a problem and already had my bill flagged for investigation. Now lets just see how they correct my bill.

Wow Roy! So much for automation and computers! It is good to hear customer service was helpful. After all the SAWS info on the news, it would seem one never knows what to expect.

Wow, it's water wasters like you that keep our aquifer level so low! How can you live with yourself? (Just Kidding!)

At least they were responsive about the problem.

When I was on a water coop they mis-read the meter and we complained. They came out and read it again and fixed it. We never used more than the minimum, until they had 7 weeks of readings. So it wasn't as high as they billed me for, but it was more than I should have had to pay. Plus, I now had only one week on the next bill and that would be the minimum payment. Only happened once though.

To err is human, to really screw up takes a computer.

I can see it now. I will be on the San Antonio Express list for using the most water in my area. Maybe I should take advantage of this situation and change my business name to Aqua Photos.
