4-Day old Moon - 01-19-2010, 10:31 PM

Shot 5 images to generate this mosaic this evening before the clouds rolled in right after sunset through the telescope.

I'm putting this one on Pbase so that you can see the detail hopefully a little better than the first one from Christmas Day. After a few more of these, I hope to make a huge mosaic of the Moon at various phases.

Thank you Sergio!

Tonight I will get some more of the Moon to add to my daily mosaic as it changes in phase. Tonight I my goal will be to get some stuff of Mars. Let's see how it turns out!

I am impressed on how you come up with Photo ideas and then follow through. I struggle with that. I have so many unfinished projects.

Great idea and shots Bryan. I loved your Christmas tree idea too.

Thanks again folks! I guess that cat is out of the bag, I'm an astronomer professionally, so I like to hook the camera up every now and then.

As for projects, oh do I have them, especially the un-finished ones too! I just don't let many people know about them! LOL!

I had a great time with the Christmas tree project, I just slowed down near the end as the 25th came because of illness, and enrgy doing traditional family stuff. More to add next year!

Keep your eyes posted for tonight's photos. Let's see what I get!

Great stuff Bryan.

Moon shots are fantastic. Looking forward to the finished project.

BTW, liked the XMas tree project too.

Thank Mark!

Just came in from looking, shooting, look some more, shoot a little more, then look a little more before deciding to come in before it was too late.

The upper atmosphere was very turbulent tonight, so nothing good of Mars turned up in the images. But the Moon cooperated nicely for a 6-day old Moon. Once again, enjoy folks!
