Okay, So I'm shooting a bridal yesterday. I get to the shoot location pull out my camera's. Clean em up, get them adjusted. Make all my Settings take a test shot. Ohhh noooooooooo, no CF Cards.... LOL, I freakin' forgot my cards at home. It's probably an hour drive to my home and back. So, now I'm a proud owner of 2 new 8 gig cards, which thanks to Walmart for being so close and not to bad of a price at 8:00 in the morning. LOL, that wasn't supposed to work out that way. Oh well, I don't think you can ever have to many CF Cards can you?
I can't believe I did that. I'm normally pretty good at double checking everything too. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

I am the proud owner of one of those walmart 8gb cards too. I was surprised that they even carried them.

I think if you shoot enough, somethhing like that is bound to happen. I dont know how many times on my way to a wedding shoot or any important event, I keep thinking to myself that I forgot something like the cards, batteries, etc.

I have a check list in my camera bag. First thing on the list is Memory Cards. Half way down the list is Memory Cards. The last thing on the list is (you guessed it) Memory Cards. Many years ago I got to a wedding with NO FILM! Thank God the studio was only a few blocks away and we were early.

As you get older you can't rely on your memory as much as you used to.
I have check list,,,,,,,,but I forgot where I put it...

I did that so many times I finally went and got one of those little wallet thingies that holds several cards and hangs on my hand strap.. Those backup cards have saved me more than a few times. Now days if I have the camera, I have at least two spare cards.

Jeeze they are so small and the price is dropping, it is worth having a couple in your vehicle stashed away in some out of the way compartment so if you do forget your cards or one fails on you the backup is there just waiting to save your behind.
Walmart is also starting to carry more than their housebrand cards too in larger sizes at reasonable prices.

For this very reason, I got at least one 4gb card in each of my backpack / roller / shoulder bag in the spare compartment. Never forget them again

I can vouch for not relying on memory anymore. Somewhere along the wayward road of life I'm leaving a trail of memory, never to be seen again! Quote:

I'm happy they finally made the cameras so you can make them "not work" unless you have a memory card in them....that's my famous trick... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
