From what I read about it, its the most extensive cleaning its ever got in that section...

I was going to go this time home and spend a few days on the river walk, but once I read about the cleaning, I decided not to go.

Yes, seems like they do a different type of draining/cleaning each year! - I barely made it this year...(albeit only my 2nd year..)

I'm a newbie to SA, so I didn't even know they did that! It is pretty shallow...but still nerve wracking to walk with my baby near the edge of the side walk, lol. Thanks for the update!

One barge rides guy had a funny line about why the River Walk barges do not have life vests. He said that "if you fall in the water, just stand up". It gets a laugh every time.
