Which San An mission for bridal? - 03-04-2011, 04:04 PM

A bride and I are meeting at the mission walk for a bridal soon, but it's been years since either of us were there, and we can't figure out which mission to meet at! Which one has the best photo ops? We have an hour scheduled.

Thanks for any help

Here's a list with a pic of each to jog your memory

Hmmm...
I believe that both Concepcion & San Jose are under renovations...

Two weeks ago San Jose was, Concepción was not.

There is a fee for commercial shoots.

Look here, may have to scroll down some.

The day I was at San Jose (a Sunday in October), there were about 6-8 people on a very elaborate photo shoot. They were outdoors working in this area of the mission.....

I haven't been back since, so I don't know if the renovation is impacting the area where they were shooting.

One photographer and a couple were doing engagements along the wall/living quarters opposite the front door of the church. That area should be fine regardless of the renovation work. Play by the rules and you will be fine.

We ended up shooting at Concepcion as San Jose was under renos at the time. $150 fee to the Nat'l Parks and the ranger hung out with us the entire time. Photos turned out beautifully, but I would have preferred San Jose. We shot a few at another one right at the end, but I can't remember the name now!

Concepcion is lovely & uncrowded. The bride is stunning. Good work!
