Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG MACRO - 08-10-2008, 07:51 PM

I know there's a thread for the APO version, but unfortunately the APO version was not available to me when and where I purchased this lens. I hope it's ok that I started a new thread since this is a different lens.

I think this lens is a pretty good overall zoom lens, auto focus is a tad slow for my tastes though...

Nikon D50 : @195mm : 1/1000th : f5 : 360 ISO : Flash did not fire

I just got this lens for ridiculously cheap and have been impressed with it so far- some shots I've taken with it:

Nikon D60 | 300mm | 1/1000th | f5.6 | 180 ISO

Nikon D60 | 300mm | 1/800th | f5.6 | 200 ISO

Nikon D60 | 300mm | 1/160th | f5.6 | 800 ISO

AF motor is loud and tends to "hunt around" which slows it down. I'm still a DSLR newbie but have been pleased with it.
