Site going offline tonight at 10pm CST...

We will be making a move to a bigger, better, faster dedicated server tonight. We expect the site to be down for 1-2 hours max.

This new server should eliminate all of our emails issues we've been experiencing recently... and oh yea... be MUCH faster... =]

Sorry for the inconvenience...
Abel.

Abel, thanks for all you do for TPF. I guess I will get to go to bed early tonight.

Tip #1: When switching servers, it is adviseable to send out anxiety medication to all subscribers at least one week prior to the move. This should relieve and/or elminate any withdrawal symptoms commonly associated with forum addiction which may include, nervousness, anxiety, depression, frequent urination, shortness of breath, headaches, migrains, acne, profuse sweating, and diarreah.

whew!

a sigh of relief...one could read the thread title and think Abel was calling it quits.

I think it was all a ploy to get a new computer and then he was going to shut down TPF!!! ;)

Abel,

Not sure if it is related to your upgrade or not, but I am now getting the following error message. It happens when I try to go to any thread from the 'New Post' display. Any thread that I have already viewed works fine. I haven't changed anything on my end regarding accepting cookies.

So that's why I couldn't connect last night. No problem though! Appreciate the upgrade, Abel.

Wow, it is MUCH faster!

I just faced a issue similar to this on a PHP site I maintain. After moving to a different server, I was getting "header already sent" messages. It turned out that I had to change the output buffer setting in the php.ini file.
example: output_buffering = 0 ; I think I changed it to 4096

Also, I'm getting an error when I try to navigate to the portal page:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: print_portal_output() in /home/abeltpf/public_html/forum/portal.php on line 46

Thanks again Able for this forum! Great job, and things do seem quite a bit faster now.

you know, you should have sent out an email about this. ;) (wait, isn't that one of the problems the server upgrade was gonna fix?) ... nevermind.
