Why is that when you click on "New Posts", you normally get 2 to 4 pages of threads and other times you only get one page? Like just a moment ago...all I got was nine threads.

"New Posts" brings up the posts that have been updated since your last visit. The frequency of new posts varies, naturally, on many factors from the time of day to the time of year.
