Disappearing EXIF - 04-11-2010, 10:38 PM

Anyone else having a problem here with photo uploads showing no EXIF after displaying the upload? I have verified the files on computer, verified the size to upload, and verified the file size to upload. Still, EXIF disappears.

I uploaded some yesterday and the EXIF wasn't there. I processed it minimally in CS4, but I didn't save it for the web. I didn't test it, but I wondered if Topaz erased the data somehow. Otherwise, it should have been there.

Folks, I'm sorry to report that the latest forum software will reprocess EVERY image uploaded to the site. It's best that you host your images on another website or server and simply inline them with the "IMG" and "/IMG" tags if you want your images untouched. I'm not sure exactly which software update changed the process, but that's where we are now. I'll ask Abel if there's a way to turn that off, but in all the testing I've done, even images that are within the set limits are run through the forums jpg processing which strips the EXIF and reduces the quality to level 5 or 6. Pretty poor for a photo forum IMHO, but let's see if the boss can fix it.
