Buy/Sell Moderators...

Can you please delete the older threads that have not been edited to show that the item is sold?

I realize that they are left in place as a 'market indicator', but when you are looking through pages and pages of threads, and then get to the end of each one, only to find out you've wasted your time and the item has been sold... its quite frustrating.

Everyone else: EDIT YOUR TITLES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


ETA: Its been brought to my attention that this was received as a complaint about the moderators 'job performance.' Let me make it clear that I am not complaining about the jobs that the moderators are doing. I was simply making a request that old, unedited threads be deleted, after searching for a particular item, and 4 of the 5 threads I read were 'sold' but not marked as such.

Sorry. But Abel has decided that it's better to have the historical data intact. Realize that you can use the advanced search feature to limit your results by date so you don't have to find all of these old posts.

4 of the 5 that I looked at were within the last three months... and those same 4 hadn't been edited properly.

I think Chris is after the posters to change the title to SOLD.

He is asking for that as well as asking the moderators to delete these old posts. It's the first line in his message.

It's not something the small moderator staff has time for IMHO. I spend many hours here online cleaning up spam and moderating pissing matches. If anyone thinks they would have the time to do this, please send Abel a PM volunteering to be a moderator.

I'm not sure how this forum works compared to the Fred Miranda Forum, but they have a ratings system for buyers/sellers, and they now have a Bought/Sold button at the top that the original poster can easily mark his item as purchased.

Originally they had a system similar to this, and while it worked, it wasn't all that efficient. The new buy/sell forum over there is much more user friendly.

I like the historical info. Mark it as sold, but leave it there. If you want to buy or sell, that is valuable info.

I also appreciate the iTrader rating system.

yes... members should change their titles to SOLD once an item is sold... if a user continues to NOT follow that simple rule then their Buy/Sell Priveledges will be stripped. plain and simple.
