So... are the post update emails going to stay the way they are now or are they going to go back to the way they were on TPF?

yes they will remain like this... we mulled it over quite a bit and weighed the pros and cons of the two...

the decision to use email's without the content included won out.

a couple of the things that played a part in this were the mass amounts of members that were replying to those actual emails thinking their replies would get posted to that thread and/or get sent directly to the person that posted the response. neither of which are true.

also, when members read the email notification of what was posted on a thread.. no more notifications will be sent until that member returns online. so say for instance i read an email notification of a reply, and i dont go back to the forum, i will not get any more email notifications in regards to what else was said after that one notification that I received.

I knew many would not like the switch and thats understandable but also know that i myself fall under the same rules as you guys do in regards to features i implement...

if anything... embedded content email notifications may become a Premium Member benefit... as soon as I can determine if thats even possible to code. hehe

WOW...what a bummer!! Count me (although it doesn't seem like anyone is counting) in the group NOT liking the lack of content. I would get the content in an email on a phone, and visit the forum later when I had time, well aware that I wouldn't get any more emails.

Hopefully this is something that can be reconsidered if enough people want it, and you decide to allow it.

I'm guessing the answer is "no" but this isn't a per-user configurable option?

I orginally joined TPF for it regionality.

In the future I will look forward to parusing other regions as I travel there.

As for the name; If someone exclaimed "Pixtus!" out loud I think my reply would be 'gesundheit.". :-)

Thank you.
Abel,,,
first thank you, I lived in Texas for two years, and found this cool site,
made alot of friends, got alot of good comments on how to improve my photography,
that being said,,,well im homeless,(state-less)
,,I live in an RV and left Texas for AZ, then AK, then FL, then ME, and god only knows where next,,,
BUT its always been good to post and get the comments from people on here i feel like are my friends,

So i have one request,
can you chain me to the front bumper with my camera so i can take pics of the BIG Blue Abel-Buss moving towards the future,
I want to take pics of it all,,
and please stop once in awhile so we all can go tinkle,,,

gonna be a FUN ride,
glad im here,

Also, as a business person, I'm sure that people click on the link to read what has been written, hence more traffice to the site. And more traffic should translate into more sponsors and income.
I know I come back more now than in the past, since I "cant" see what has been posted.
And, yes, I too am one of the ones that dont like the email change, but I understand it from the business perspective.

Man I look at the date this was posted. I didn't realize I've been away so long and look at what has happen since my last visit.

Well Abel change is always hard and risky in the beginning. But, to grow it is a necessity. I'm a proud TPF'er. I am proud member of Pixtus.

Congratulations ........

That is the only thing I don't get. Before, we were TPFers. You could say, are you a TPFer? Or, hey fellow TPFer. Now I don't know what to call myself. Former TPFer? PIXer? PIXTer?

Anybody?
