For Abel...Just A Few Suggestions...

Hi Abel,

1. Would it be possible for us to have a Central CA section for those of us who live in the Big Valley? Would make it a lot easier for us to plan meet-ups in our area that way...

2. How about a section for foto fixes where folks can post a pic and see what others can do with it? Could even make it a challenge sort of thing.

3. Speaking of challenges...will we be having any, as in themed challenges taking place within a specific time frame (generally 2 or 4 weeks in length)? If so, it would be really nice to have a special gallery for it (for easier viewing, rather than a threaded type set-up). Voting for "winners" could be optional...(making it a contest can be a two-edged sword...it does encourage more participation but can become a major headache, too. But on the other hand, it's fun to be challenged and it gets us off our duffs and out taking pitchas, and that's a GOOD thing! ;) )

4. Another fun thing I've seen on other sites is more of a game called "photo match", where one person posts a photo, and the next person has to match something in that photo with the photo they post, and so on...it's non-competitive and can be really interesting to see what sort of matches (and thought processes) people come up with. The matches can be literal- as in matching a subject, object, or general theme, or a bit more esoteric, such as matching a color, shape, or idea. -This would probably work better in a thread than a gallery.

Anyhow, just a few ideas for you to chew on...(I put the main ideas in bold type to make it easier for you to see at a glance...my posts generally tend to be too long, LOL! And the message can get lost...)

Great ideas! I love the photo match idea. This is similar to what is called "linking" in writing rengas. I love it and I'm ready to jump on that one!

I think a separate photo restoration or photo fixes section would be fabulous. I have some shots I would love some advice on from our very experienced and esteemed photo fixers.

And I think we need to work on our member category titles - in a special thread where we can brainstorm. I guess I could start the thread ... okay, okay....
