Suggestion: Email notification - 09-18-2011, 03:50 PM

Is it possible for the Private Message Notification in the email to include the actual message?

Would be much more convenient then having to sign in here again and again..

It used to be that way, but apparently too many people were trying to hit "reply" to that was causing some kind of problem.

Ya, I remember being able to read it in the email.

I'm sure there is a simple remedy for the reply issue - unless it's being avoided to generate more site traffic

If you visit often enough and have your login saved, you don't have to re-login.....

there were a lot of people doing just that and that was one of the main reasons for switching.

the added site traffic helps a lot... it helps us pay the bills which is a big plus so that the funds aren't coming out of my own pocket per se.

I can understand it costs time & money to run a site. However, almost everything on this site has to take place on here... meaning it cant be transferred elsewhere to jeopardize the traffic flow. So being able to just read the PMs (or a reply within a thread) would make is much more convenient. And one would still have to sign back in to reply anyway... .02

Or become a premium member. Abel just changed it so that if you are a premium member, replies to threads and PMs have the content imbedded in the email. The perks for premium membership keep adding up.

Plus it's a way to thank Abel for all of his hard work.

Thanks... this the option that i've been working on getting implemented for the past month or so and just got it completed last night.

Premium Members will have all of the PM/New Reply content embedded into their notification emails. This is a benefit now included in the Premium Member perks.

Non Premium Members will still receive the notification emails that only include a link to be able to click and visit to see what was sent/said. By having registered members visit the site in order to view the content that is how we increase our page views & ad impressions which in turn yields a small bit of income for the site in order to apply towards our monthly server costs.

Since Premium Members signed up for the $25 a year subscription they don't see the Google ads and such like regular registered members do. Since they helped fund the site to help cover costs thats one of the main benefits they receive. No google ads.

Thanks again guys.
