What is the issue you're having?

Again, you have to understand that we as admins and mods can no insure or guarantee transactions that take place on the buy/sell forum.

If you paid with Paypal there are some ways you can dispute the sale via them.

OK, the issue was regarding an Alien Bee B800 for sale that I purchased via Paypal on Friday. (The thread is still on the forum under "AlienBees B800 11 months old, rarely used, complete w/ carry bag".) Anyways, this morning I receive an e-mail from the seller that the item that she shipped was a Vagabond power unit and, in all likelihood, the B800 is no longer in her possession. I have currently filed a dispute with Paypal but have had no e-mail contact with the seller since this morning.

At this point, all I want is my money back.

Have you received any packages yet? Maybe you should wait until a package arrives to make sure.

So you bought a B800 and the seller shipped you a Vagabond instead?

@groovyone -- the item is STILL being listed as in Dallas since she "shipped" it on Friday afternoon. I know about the length of time shipping something via UPS ground, but even with it being in-state it should have made SOME movement since this morning. At last check, it's still being listed as still in Dallas.

@Abel -- yes, she admitted it this morning. I wouldn't have had a problem with that except that I already have a vagabond and that as of now, I have no studio lights

She should NOT have gone through with the sale or even have listed it if the item she was selling is not even in her possession.

If you purchased through Paypal, I would report it immediately. Don't wait any longer or it may be too late.

This is NOT how transactions are to take place here.

@crazeazn -- I have the copy of the last e-mail I received from this morning and will forward it to Abel momentarily

@Abel -- I have already filed a dispute with Paypal and will escalate it to a claim if this is not resolved by week's end.

So the message from the buyer to Erik was:

Quote:
oh crap! I thought you bought the alien bee vagabond. ****. don't know how that happened. I don't even remember listing a B800 on here... I do but it was FOREVER ago and someone bumped the thread and in the email I got about the PM all I saw was for the alien bee and assumed it was for the vagabond. that's why in the pm I said this:

"""thanks! it is charged an ready to go. also, i was originally keeping it plugged in all the time, but alien bee changed the instructions and said you don;t have to do that after all. enjoy! i'll let you know the tracking number as soon as I have it."""

I guess I was smoking crack or something. well... when they try and deliver you can just refuse the package and have it sent back and I'll refund you. or you can have a vagabond for a great deal.

i'm so sorry for the confusion. i promise, this has NEVER happened.
It seems form the email that the transaction occurred a little differently than I interpreted it by your posting.. It seemed like you said she did it on purpose when in fact it seems to have been a major slip on her account.

Accidents do happen and I don't THINK this is a bait and switch case as it was originally portrayed to be. The seller has explained that if you refuse the acceptance of the package that she would indeed refund you your money as you're wanting.

In this case I would give the seller a chance to make it right... Heather has an iTrader rating of 7 and is 100% positive.

I think things will work out just fine in this case

While I'm sure it was an accident, the long and short of it is that I paid for something that I'm not getting, and at this point, all I want is my money back, so I can buy lights by next week. And I would like to refuse acceptance of the package if it even has shipped off, and there's no guarantee that has even happened, either. (I called UPS and they said only the seller can cancel the shipping of an item before first delivery has been attempted.)

I know this doesn't absolve me of my own ineptitude in the matter, but I paid for something I'm not getting, so I have a right to have a full refund ASAP.

I agree... but the original description made it sound as if she did it on purpose when it doesnt seem that is the case.

She should refund you the money...

I just dont think this is a "being ripped off" type situation... it was a mistake on the seller's part. I have contacted her, hopefully she makes right on the situation as she has said she would do in your email from her.

Has she replied since you've asked for a refund?

If so, how long ago was your email sent to her asking for that refund?

I apologize, but as you said, she shouldn't have shipped it if she didn't have it. But it doesn't matter now.

When she said she shipped the Vagabond this morning, I immediately asked for a full refund. There's been no response as of yet.
