Categories available to enter:

General Photos
Any photos that do not fit into any of the categories below.

City Life
Photos of buildings, street lights, street signs etc. Think anything urban.

Infrared
Photos taken with Infrared modified cameras. Content of the photo doesnt not matter. If it is a IR photo of a person, it will go into this category and not in the People category.

Landscapes
Sunsets, mountain ranges, fields etc etc. Your typical landscape shots will go in this category.

Macro
Macro shots of any items such as flowers, coins and other macro style shots. Think up close photos of various objects/subjects.

Nature & Wildlife
Domestic animals such as family pets as well as other animals that may be found in zoos and in the wild such as deer etc. Photos of various flowers & trees etc can also be in this category as well.

People
Portraits, glamour and concert photography.

Photojournalism
Photos documenting different events such as protests, press conferences and any other editorial topic.

Sports
Pro and amateur sports of all kinds including motorsports.

Weddings
Wedding photos of the ceremony, reception and every where in between.

Digital Manipulation
Images that are extensively post processed.

HDR Only
All HDR photos to be included in this category no matter what the content. For instance if it is an HDR image of a person, it will go in this category and not in the People category.

Panoramas
All Panoramas to be included in this category no matter what the content. Images can not be more than 600px tall. There are no restrictions on width.

You must follow these rules below or else your photo will not be entered into the contest....


Rules:
1. All members registered are allowed to enter the contest (I myself can't play)
2. One entry per member per category
3. Only accepting entries from Dec 1st - Dec 31st 11:59pm CST
4. Photos have to have been taken in 2006
5. You must be the original owner of the image
6. EXIF info must be retained within the file. To find out how click here
7. Do not submit to every category just beause you can, That will be a waste of your time and mine. Be selective and only submit those photos that you feel are high quality contenders.
8. I reserve the right to relocate you photo submission into the proper category if it does not fit where originally submitted.
9. I am not help responsible for entries that are disqualified because the submissions did not follow the Submission Rules listed below. Following the requirements are your responsibility... not mine.


Image Requirements:
1. Images are to be no larger than 800x600 / 600x800 pixels
2. Image files should be less than 500k
3. Images should be in JPG format
4. No watermarks, borders, copyright or any or labeling on the images.
5. No nudity
6. Basic image manipulation is ok within reason, heavily photoshoped images will need to be submitted into the Digital Manipulation category.


Submission Requirements:
1. All images must be emailed to: contest [ a t ] texasphotoforum.com
2. Include your TPF username in the subject of your email.
3. Do not post entries within this thread.
4. Naming convention should be as follows:

Format: EntryCategory_YourScreenName.jpg
Example: Weddings_HoustonPhotog.jpg
Example: Sports_HoustonPhotog.jpg


Voting Guidlines will be available very soon....

Added 12/03/06: Once you have submitted your entry, you will be sent a confirmation email. If you do not receive this email within 24 hours, please email me as it means I probably did not receive it.

Added 12/20/06: Added two new categories, HDR Only and Panoramas. Also added detailed category descriptions to give more information about different categories.

Added 12/26/06: Removed the restriction on what registration date was required. all members are now eligible..

Added 12/28/06: Added Rules #8 and #9 as a disclaimer that states members are responsible for their own submissions.

I believe that last year there was a requirement for no borders and no signature/watermark on the pictures. I don't care one way or another if you put that requirement in again, just thought I would bring it up.

im trying to keep the images clean of all info... that way when voting occurs, nobody knows what images belongs to who etc

Sorry,I remembered one more rule from last year. One entry per member per category (like you have) but there was also a limit of a total of 3 images submitted per member.

no limit to how many categories u can enter... just use common sense...

added this rule.

it says no borders, but what if you printed full frame (film)? of course it could easily be cropped in photoshop. just curious.

sorry... i say it would have to be cropped...

i think framing adds more character to a photo and we'd like the photos to stand on their own without any outside assistance from frames/borders etc...
