Guys and Gals, there is a huge number of models and talent (78 so far) in Dallas requesting to attend a group shoot like the one we just did in Austin. The date has been set for FEBRUARY 12 in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. Peggy is the organizer for the event on behalf of the TM&T and it promises to be a fun and productive shoot.

Photographers are needed! You don't have to be professional, this is for all levels of experience. If you want to learn to shoot people, kids, adults, etc., this is a great opportunity. You can sign up at our site, or if you need assistance post here or send me an email and I will help you get involved and/or I can put you in touch with Peggy.

Thanks!

sorry, I should have mentioned Houston too... I'm just more worried about getting enough photographers for the Dallas shoot since there are so many there wanting to do this (model wise). The Houston shoot is in February also.... FEBRUARY 20. Jon Rowader is organizing it through the forum. If you've already signed up, he'll be getting information with directions, etc., out during early February. Count on attending!

How many photographers do we have now? I'm getting a little nervous. This will be my first 'public' shoot with other than friends and family. I'd hate to be counted on for more than a few 'good' shots. I've seen tons of talent signing up but ony three or four photographers.

Still I'm looking forward to this shoot!

Scott,
Don't worry you'll be fine. There are so far 7 photographers, there will be more like 10 or 12 for sure before long and hopefully more than that. A lot of people have signed up, but only enough will actually receive the final invitation with location and directions as we feel the amount of photographers coming can handle. Just starting out is fine - don't worry. There's a mix of talent, some very experienced and some out for their first time too. Photographers range from skilled to novice. Models/Talent gain more than just photos, they gain the experience of posing for different people, including beginners. Photographers gain the same types of things. I've done enough of these to have seen it all and there's never been any problems. If I come out, I'll help those of you starting out, and if not, there will still be some guys there that have done this many times before with us. They'll help you along. Also, Peggy's really good as an organizer (her two children are signed with me) and she'll take good care of you, I promise.

I went to the Austin Shoot last saturday, i am a very new DSLR shooter and was quite nervious about it, but it was a fantastic shoot! Thank you very much Jeff!! Lots of fun, people were very friendly and models were just super nice. Highly recommend this to anyone thinking of doing it in the DFW area to just go for it. i will post the pics as soon as i get them uploaded to my yet undecided place on the net.

I know this would sound silly to all experienced photog, but ones going first time, please take some business cards with you :-)

It was great to have you there. If someone's starting out and rather just hang and watch, that's okay too. Shoot when you feel able. Or, if there's someone real easy to work with ... I try to pair them off with someone new. Either way, everyone's so easy going - especially the talent that come out, they're always just so happy to be there and everyone's always smiling, even in the cold.

Wait till the warmer months. The shoots are even more fun! During the real heat of summer, we bring out lots of ice chests and drinks to keep everyone from dying.

Here's Laura and her new puppy... from Saturday. It was so cold out, even the doggie had his hat on to keep warm!!!

If you go to our website (http://www.austinmodelsandtalent.com/forum/index.php), you can register electronically and Peggy will get in touch with you (she is organizing the shoot in Dallas for us). When you go to the site, just look for the category, "GROUP SHOOT SIGN IN," and then after you click on that find the heading for the DFW FREE SHOOT. Email me if you need assistance (jeffc@austinmodelsandtalent.com).

This is Dondrey. She attends many of the shoots and has been doing so for a few years. I met her at the free monthly shoot and have since worked with her many times at the shoots and in the studio. She is represented by the Austin Models & Talent Agency and has done one film role so far, and she'll be competing in the MISS TEEN AUSTIN pageant in a few weekends from now here in Austin, TX. As you can tell, she is a skilled skydiver without a chute.
