Image size limits?

This is a discussion on Image size limits? within the Site Info forums, part of the General Information category; I did a search, but couldn't find anything about image size limits for posts. Is there a limit? My bad...found ...

I did a search, but couldn't find anything about image size limits for posts. Is there a limit?

My bad...found out when I went to attach a file. 900x900.

I don't think we have any limit, but I might be wrong, it just nice practice to post smaller images then full size, no one like scroll too much :)

That may be the limit, but in general it's good to stick with nothing taller than 600 pixels and no wider than 720 pixels. Just a common courtesy since some folks still use 800x600 displays. It's also a good practice to save your jpg images with no higher than quality 8 (on a scale of 1 to 10). It's nice to have images around the 100K size so even, gasp, dialup folks can enjoy them.

Care to share what 'scayf' means? Don't have to, just wondering.

I tried to attach an image, and it said "too big", and gave the limit as 900x900.

Yeah, that's a better size than the British forum I visit...theirs is 640x480 or something.
