How To: Add Events To Calendar


I have created a completely separate category on the Forum Homepage and within that category now resides the separate dedicated sections for the two main calendars.

TPF Event Calendar
All TPF Events such as group meetups for dinner, group shoots and any other organized events started by our members will be located within this section.

Texas Photo Op Calendar
All regular Photo Op notifications such as festivals, carnivals, parades, car shows and such will be located within this section. These events will not have an organizer but will allow for RSVP's so that members that do wish to attend can see who else is planning to attend in order to then formulate a get together then.





Once you enter into one of the Sections you're looking to add an event to it will look like this. If you would like to add an event to this section simply click the New Thread button. This new thread button will act a bit differently then in other sections meaning since this is an event section it will have you fill in details about the event and automatically add it to the appropriate calendar as well.





This is the form you will see after clicking the New Thread button.

Please enter in a Prefix to the thread title which reflects the city in which the event will take place.

Then proceed to enter in the date and times in the selection boxes as noted. If you do not know the specific time then simply just enter one in like 8am - 10pm etc. The form will not enter in the event unless there is a time given.

Please fill in as much information about the event as possible as well which is usually just a simple copy and paste from the event's website. Also please include the website of the event as well in order to help members find directions and contact info if needed.

Once completed, click Save Event and the event will be added to the Event Section as well as the appropriate Event Calendar!






Optional
You can also you the Events link in the header to navigate to the Events Page and simply select the Add Event button there in order to do the same thing as mentioned above.

I am currently in the progress of customizing this page even more so that it will be much more helpful to our members.
