Why can't I stay signed in? - 02-12-2005, 06:49 PM

Even after clicking the "keep me signed in" box, I still have to sign in everytime I visit. This doesn't happen with other sites. I've allowed cookies manually from this site. Anyone?

Abel,
I have Norton Systemworks Professional, which includes Norton AV running, and I don't have any trouble staying signed in. But I have a program that protects the cookie for the site. If I were to delete that cookie, I would have to sign in next visit too.

I have a program called AdSubtract Pro. http://www.intermute.com/products/adsubtract.html
I have had it for years and I believe it helps a lot on keeping my computer clean.
They have a free version with limited features, and a Pro, shareware, version with expanded features.
I started with the free version years ago and was so happy with it that I purchased the shareware version. I have not had popups since I first started using it. And the shareware version keeps track of the cookies websites put on my computer, and gives me the option to do whatever I like with them. Some, like this site, I "Protect". All of the rest get deleted next time I start the computer. When I turn on the computer each day, only the "Protected" cookies are there. from my "Trusted" sites.
It also allows me to clean the various History's, Temporary files and Browser Cache as well. I like my History's so I keep them.
Edited to say:--Be aware tho that if you let Windows clear your cookies, it will delete even the ones you wanted to keep.

I'm having the same problem with Texas Photo Forum.
Started about a week or so ago.
When I first signed up it was fine and now I can not stay logged on.

I have made no changes to the system.
I have added the url to the safe list and etc and still no luck.

I have not had any problems with all the other sites I'm visiting just Texas Photo Forum.

wait a minute wait a minute guys.....what is your security set on. the security setting on your control panel. go into it and check out what your internet security settings are. chances are you may have it set to high which will not let you access some sites. I've had that prob before. who knows it may be yours.

or just go to your web browswer, click on tools---> click internet options---> click on security and check out what your level is at. and change it there.

easy fix for this is to search for the cookies for this site. there should be two of them if you are having this problem. delete both of them and that should fix it. its a phpbb problem i believe.
