How do I fix the URL Preview - 03-05-2010, 11:04 AM


Can somebody tell me how I can fix the URL Preview to utilize my domain name instead of the SMUGMUG domain name.

It seems that if I create the Gallery after the Categories/SubCategories are created it works, but not always.

This should be a one time setting that works for your entire site. It is possible to access it via either smugmug.com or mydomain.com - so if you have one that works, they should all work via your domain.

Have you followed the help doc there already? Can you link me one that works and one that doesn't?

When I go through the Control Panel and I mouse over the actual gallery, it does give me the correct URL with my domain for one of them but not for the other two.

Additionally, when I click on the gallery to look through the pictures, on the one with My Domain has the breadcrumb trail / structure at the top whereas the other one doesn't.

It appears as though this is something related to the Categories / Subcategories but I do have the correct categories selected.

Here is a screen shot of a gallery that works. Notice the URL at the bottom of the screen, based on mouse over.

Views: 102
Size:  58.8 KB


Now this gallery shows the URL at the bottom and notice that it doesn't have the correct category path in the URL nor the domain name.

Views: 100
Size:  58.5 KB

I am going to try to recreate these to see where I am going wrong because I know that it was working at one point.

I wonder if it has something to do with the "NICE" names field.

*Note* I'm not a support person for SM - you can sure send their help desk an email and I'm sure they would assist.

Kalrog,

I understand that you are not a SM support person, but I do appreciate your suggestions.

What I have done, is recreate the album and uploaded the pictures again. I am keeping a close eye on the URL change when I make changes to the Gallery.
