Uploads failing

I'm on a slow connection, but these are fairly small (<300k) images.

With "Send to Smugmug" the status bar sticks about 80% for a while, then the upload fails.

With Olde Faithful, the "Upload status" animated window never goes away on its own, and the "Don't close this window" window eventually goes to "The webpage at http://upload.smugmug.com/photos/new_add.mg might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."

Trying a single ~200k file with Olde Faithful, it errors out after a few seconds, and the upload log shows "Wrong bytes received."

FWIW, same problem with Flickr, but Walgreens.com works. Not sure what the difference is there.

Hmm..."Simple" uploader works fine. Unfortunately, I can never get it to work right on the older laptop, (recent Flash versions are a bit too much for it) but it's working from the Vista box. Any ideas why "Simple" would work when "Olde Faithful" chokes?
