Standard acct question - 01-02-2008, 05:20 PM

I Pmed Smugmug but no reply. So I'm posting my question here.

Does the standard account enable you to password lock galleries? cause I would like my clients be able to access there gallery and vote that they like it or no.... is this possible with the standard account?

I believe you can create private galleries.

Sorry for the delayed response, the holidays tend to be quite crazy over here.

Anyway, yes you can password protect AND/OR you can privatize your galleries as a Standard subscriber. We also have "Share Groups" for private galleries. That allows you to put multiple private galleries in a share group and the viewer can see all the galleries you put in there.

As for allowing your customers to select or mark which photos they like, we don't have that capability. We do allow our Pro account holders to upload untouched photos and when a customer buys something it emails the account holder and allows them to upload an edited or touched up version of the photo. But, that requires the Pro account level.

Make sense?

I just looked and I see that I addressed a "marking or selecting" capability but I didn't address a Voting capability.

All your customers can vote with the thumbs up/down but it is not polished enough to be used for your business. The best thing to do is set up the galleries to email you whenever a comment is posted on a photo. That way when a viewer posts a comment on a particular photo, you will get an email.
