Praise for prints - 04-28-2008, 04:09 PM

ordered a bunch of 4x6's to ensure color matching to what I saw on the screen:

1) dual monitor setup...dell 20" widescreen and a samsung 4:3 cheapie 19"
2) calibrated with huey pro (monitors are within a gnats eyelash of each other)
3) downloaded ICC profile from smugmug
4) soft-proofing using the ICC in photoshop didn't change the image at all (which initially worried me)
5) ordered prints with Auto color option

Brightness was about perfect with the prints in normal indoor light (not measured, not scientific, of course). Color was an amazing match. After struggling with Kodak Gallery (prints waaaay too dark and colors changed even print to print), I'm very happy with smugmug. Great job guys.

Thank you, this is a great write up.

We really get interested in results when people do their own comparisons.

Thanks.
