contact form issue - 07-11-2008, 09:20 AM

So I set up my contact form, and everything works perfectly. A few months later, someone tells me they used the contact form to contact me. I did not get any emails. So I tested it....nothing..NOTTA!!! So how many more emails have I missed???? GGGGRRRR...So now I don't trust the contact form. Should I should put a note to contact me with my email address...or is there a way to make this not happen except to test it once or week or more often? Anyone else have this issue?

So surely someone else has this issue...Have you emailed yourself lately? I re-did the emailmeform.com which I originally used. No luck....so I switched to wufoo.com and used their form. Form appears good on the website, but it does not go to my email account. When you email my account directly, everything works fine. Smug Mug can't find a problem (they have attempted to solve the problem) and GoDaddy has been called twice and they can't find the problem. Surely some of you tech guru's have a suggestion???? B efore I switch to this

Could be a server side issue. Do you know what they use language wise (PHP, ASP, and so on)?

If you have the code Id be glad to look at it for you. You might want to think about (if its available) having a SQL(database) backup. Here is our contact form http://www.onmarkgroup.com/contact.html (very simple) but it emails and saves to a database.

English

Sorry, couldn't resist. I don't have a clue (obviously!!!) the emailmeform.com did go to a database also, but I didn't realize it until I started having issues. When you say it is on the server side, do you mean smug mug who has the website or godaddy who has the email (see, I obviously don't have a clue!!)

I would think smug mug, but here is the catch for me. I have never used smug mug so I have no clue how they host your site.

Did that website that gave you the contact form stuff give you something that looks like jumble and you paste that code in a file on smug mug?

You have emailed our help desk? You might want to post on Dgrin.com I typically don't like to recommend anyone from TPF to go to another forum, but in this case, there might be someone over there to help.

This is a good customization thread: http://dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

already did that, didn't get any response. That's why I switched to wufoo.com's form. I'm still not having any luck. Can't seem to find the error.

I FINALLY got it to work...had to change to wufoo.com forms and some help from them, and things are finally working. Hopefully they will stay that way...thanks.

This thread made me go check my own.... it hasn't been working either.

I was using wufoo.com... I would suggest emailmeform.com. I just got it up and running, and it seems to work peachy-keen. And it has an anti-spam word built in.

I am laughing my butt off right now!!! I was using emailmeform.com and switched to wufoo.com!!!!!!!!!!!!! emailmeform.com was working originally then quit sometime...if you will look, some guy from Romania is suppose to answer your email if you contact them for support----didn't happen---big suprise. That's why I switched to wufoo. They are in the good ol USA and actually had someone answer me via email when I emailed them. And it was even a stupid mistake on my part. I did learn that both of them will give you a cc on their website so if your email goes bad, you can still get to the forms. Good luck...

9 times out of 10 our Support Heroes have problems with emailmeform and recommend wufoo.

I am going to have our team create a tutorial to follow.
