My customization is broken - 09-26-2008, 07:23 PM

Since the Smugmug maintenance (or upgrade) yesterday, my customization isn't working anymore. My homepage slideshow doesn't work at all and my navbar colors, text & layout has changed. What do I need to correct this?
I am going to post this same question on Dgrin.
Thanks

My slideshow started working again, but my navbar formatting is still screwed up. On Dgrin Andy is useless as usual, but Allen is looking into it. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Ok, I'm all better now.

Allen told me to remove a section of code from the Biobox of the homepage, but the section he told me to remove isn't there anymore so I'm going to assume he cut it himself and that is why it started working again. He also recommended the I upgrade the slideshow code as instructed here http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/3624147 but I'll have to read that over closer later.

As far as my navbar formatting it seems to be a problem with the Carbonite theme, but Allen hasn't confirmed that. I changed themes and it is back to normal.

Another update:
The slideshow problem is happening only when using custom domain names. Example: www.lanterphoto.smugmug.com works but www.lanterphoto.com is broke. They are working on it.

Yeah, Fixed on mine too.
I added a note on a dgrin thread that Andy was monitoring, but never checked back to see if he replied. Several references were already made to the glitch, and I believe they were already working to fix it.

I'm using the same base template as you on Smugmug. I'm struggling with two things perhaps you can help me with. First, what is the code necessary and where does it go to draw the line under your name and center it, and secondly how do you place you name and Navbar at either end of the line instead of at the edges of the screen?

THANKS!

Terry

Terry,

I wish I could help you, but I'm a web design dummy. Allen on the dgrin customization forum helped me set mine up. Check out some of the threads here:

http://www.dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

I noticed that on your homepage slideshow that if you click on the photos it takes you to the smugmug homepage. I'm not sure how to disable this but you might want to look into it also.

Really sorry guys, I have been totally MIA from the TPF. I just moved my family into a new home and I can't believe how much stuff we have.

Anyway, I am back in action and can help you out.

So just so I am clear, you would like to have an underline under your name and Navbar? As well as you would like your navbar and Logo/name to be centered on the page?

Markham

While we're on the subject of changes, did anything change regarding the "share" button on the gallery pages in the last couple of weeks? I could have sworn it worked in Opera (Vista/XP, I don't think it ever worked in Opera under Linux) before, but now it reacts when clicked, but doesn't actually do anything beyond the visual effect. I can't remember if I've done any updates on the Vista box in that time frame, and I haven't thought to ask my wife if she did any on the XP box, so it may be something that changed on my end.

I'm not at home right now, so I can't check either of the Windows versions, but oddly enough, on the Linux version, the "Add Photos," "Themes," and "Share" buttons don't work but the "Buy" button does.
